Spring Newsletter

April 18, 2008

Hi friends,
Hope you survived the winter and are enjoying this
beautiful warm weather we are having. There are a few
changes at the Fort and we wanted you to know the Fort will
not be open 7 days a week after Memorial as it has been in
the past. We will be closed Monday and Tuesday each week
year round indefinitely.
We also wanted to make sure you knew that Kids Day is just
around the corner on Saturday May 3rd, 2008 from 10:00 am
till 4:00 pm.
Activities will include rope making (make your own jump
rope),quill pen writing with a real turkey feather
pen, leather work (make your own little goodie bag),
archery, lacrosse (a Native American stick ball game),
puppet shows, face painting, Indian lore in the Native
American Village, and popcorn made in a real kettle by our
own authentic "Popcorn Chefs". Games such as Boule (French
lawn bowling), hoop and stick racing, sack racing, tug of
war, and nine pins. If that isn't enough there will also be
free cake and lemonade. If you are the first to find a
jelly bean in your cake you will be crowned King and Queen
of Kids Day!!! And more!!!
Sound like fun? Come on down and join us. Bring any kids
you know (even if they have an AARP card) and have a good
time with us!! Take care, see you at the Fort!!!
