BOTH DAYS

    The Peacocks Band,(located behind the museum) and  the Booneslick Strings  will perform periodically at various locations throughout both days. The Primitive Lifeways Area will feature bow building demonstrations, native food ways, and daily life skills.  There will be working oxen demonstrations periodically both days located east of the Fort.  The good crew of the Pirate brig-sloop Mercury will demonstrate the day to day lifestyles of sailors and landsmen living in the Golden Age of Piracy.

    At 1pm on both days the Ladies and Soldiers of the Fort de Chartres French Marines will present a Vignet of a slander trial that took place at Fort de Chartres on June 4th, 1725.  The original characters involved were a Marie Medand and Blanche (no last name given) wife of a drummer in the French Marines.  Check out "Law and Order" in the 18th century.

    The French Colonial Artillery will fire the fort's 6 pound cannon every hour, on the hour, from 10am to 5pm.  At 15 minutes before the hour a detachment of gunners will march to the Powder Magazine (the oldest building in the State of Illinois) to retrieve the black powder charge.

Primitive Archery Competition

Knife & Hawk Throw Competition and Demonstration.  Visitors can try their hand at throwing a hawk.  No Charge.

3:45PM 

The good crew of the Pirate brig-sloop Mercury is bringing back the traditional TUG-O-WAR.  (staging area in front of the fort)

 SATURDAY, JUNE 4  9:00 AM Officer's Call- All Military Units

(Commandants Quarters int the Guard's House)

8:00PM to 10:00 PM A dance for event participants and visitors will be held inside the Fort. Music provided by Booneslick Strings.

La Grande Cannon Fusillade (The Big Cannon Shootout)

The rendezvous is co-sponsored by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency, Les Coureur de Bois de Fort de Chartres, and Save Illinois History.
